Christmas @ Burks

So We did Thanksgiving with my family, and Christmas with Aaron's. Aaron was only able to stay for a few hours :( then to work...Missed him so much.<---Theres the big belly.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Tennessee with my Family. It was way cold most of the time, but it was still a good time.I know it's not about the food...but fried turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing,and crescent rolls..Yum.We got to see everyone and hang out.Here are some of the pics.< -----Tradition Dad cut's the Turkey.<-This is funny actually.

Scrambled Eggs

This is the update post of tons of things that have happened over the first year of marriage...yes it's been a whole year.So there was the wedding, then honeymoon, and our 1st place.We lived in a apartment for a year on S. Campbell just a one bd rm cozy little place for us and the dog.I worked at Liberty bank part-time for a year and now that we know Della is coming I am going to stay home with her.Ups and downs...sick days and sunny days, it has been a great ride.Went to a lot of parties and events.Did a lot of swimming over the summer that was so nice.I miss it.I wonder how many hours over the last year where spent on fb and watching movies...LOL.Well Valentines at Touch, 4th of July with Church events,Halloween in our new place,Thanksgiving in TN. and Christmas with the Burks,I got a sweet kitchen aid btw,now new years is creeping up on us.Excited to be starting my second year married to Aaron.Some people don't even make it that far.How sad is that. <----The nasty cake.
Our anniversary was a blast, we spent it on the landing in Branson,walking and talking and eating at Macaroni grill..yums.Aaron is my best friend and that was a special day for us.We came home and tried to eat our one year old wedding cake, it was so nasty we both spit it out and laughed.But the tradition was fun.We followed the one year tradition of paper for our gifts and it was super sweet.
Now we are in our 2nd place, another cozy, but 2bd rm apartment in Brookline Station.And everyday is spent awaiting the birth of our little girl.The due date is Jan. 6th and we are so excited.
That was the scrambled eggs of our year.There was a lot left out, but the memories are still in my noggin.I like them best there anyway :)
We are up to date now and I will try my best to keep it current this new year.

Honeymoon daz

Here is a brief update of the honeymoon.We where super blessed to have gotten to take a Caribbean cruise for 6 days.It was AMAZING!it was so beautiful and relaxing...at one point we left our camera in Key West..but thankfully we had the blackberry at that time to make it through.Snorkeling was the best excursion that we did and we have a ton of stories to look back on.A perfect week in heaven on earth with my new perfect husband. Going to add some pictures now.

Our Wedding

A once in a lifetime event for Aaron and I. And it was wonderful! Here are the highlights!
Decorating with friends the night before. The morning of the wedding I tried to make a grooms cake shaped as a basketball...and well it was a flop...so out of the house with bridesmaids stopped at a local lil coffee house for a mocha, and then get me to the church on time.The guys(Including Aaron) stayed at a hotel in town so they where on there way to the churc

h also. As we where headed to the church Allison ( Barkowski) got a funny call from Brad that he didn't have any pants! It was really just his dress pants he left at my parents...so that was a fun joke for the morning.At the church now and I see my future husband, I meet him at the car with a coffee in hand, and he put his hands on my shoulders looks me in the eyes and says" Are you ready for this babe?" Smiles all around I reply " Totally"! Ok now in the church finishing decor and food prep. Justine is frantic working on my cake, that was totally awesome in the end. Ok time to get hair and makeup done...The girls took a school room upstairs and the guys took another. By the time we where done getting ready that room was a disaster...everything was everywhere, but we managed!I over heard Brad say...emergency down stairs, beckoning Justine to come help! I was freaking out about that...what was it...what was wrong? Well I found out later it was the cake, apparently it was starting to fall over...a

nd they saved it just in time... PTL cause the wedding cake was a big deal to me.Ok last touches, my Vail and Grandmas pearls. Hug mom for the last time as her single daughter, try not to cry and walk out into the hallway down to the sanctuary.Meet with Dad and make sure everyone is in place to walk out.There is no feeling like the feeling you get when your standing behind the sanctuary doors about to walk out and marry the man you love.Arm in arm with Dad, a last glance into his eyes with a silent I love you. Bridesmaids walk out and then flower girl ( Annabelle my niece) so cute.That's my Que, here we go.I almost tripped but Dad saved me, and we kept walking, All I could see was Aaron standing at the alter with glassy eyes looking amazing.Yes by the time I got up to him I was crying. A hug with Dad and a prayer together.I turned toward my future and he wiped the tear away from my eye.I knew more than ever that I was supposed to be standing there getting married to him.Ron( Dad in-law) lead the ceremony, with a sweet spirit. Vows, rings and the kiss...I hear it was juicy! Not sure what it was really, I just remember amazing! Yay the bridal march...played by Brad our perfect pianist, off we go married.Ok juicy detail, in the elevator down to the reception we kissed...actually made-out LOL but hey who wouldn't?Pictures and fellowship.We didn't stay to long at our reception because we just got married and um well we had to be in Nashville to start our honeymoon, going on a cruise.Justin (my brother) decided to surprise us with a get-away car...vintage you'll see a picture...it was so perfect. On our way to our own car we drove through sonic and held up our just married sign...it was immature and super fun. You know cruising through sonic is the thing to do in Dickson Tn. No really it's that or Wal-Mart. LOL
For thous of you that stayed and cleaned and packed everything up...you are angels...my wedding is the first time I left a party and let everyone else do the after work.It was nice actually.This may surprise you, but all the way to Nashville Aaron and I talked about how it was such a blessing to have our family and friends take care of everything for us.Here we are newlyweds and we are talking about our friends, I knew that he was the man I would be with forever.We have always been so comfortable with each other...there was no awkwardness between us because we where alone and just married...he is my best friend I guess that's why.Aaron has his side to the wedding story also...in fact after the wedding we both wrote down our thoughts of the day and then we shared them with each other.It was a great idea.So that is our wedding day in a big nut shell...maybe a walnut or something...Time for picture and on to the next thing in our new married life.
